Police in India have busted a cyber fraud gang and arrested two Nigerian nationals for allegedly duping women through 73 fake profiles on Instagram.    The suspects identified as 29-year-old Rawlings Oshuor and 28-year-old Yao Theopile, were arrested in Delhi by cybercrime sleuths from Vadadora, Gujarat at the weekend.   During interrogation, the duo revealed that they have duped many people across India.  “We confiscated their mobile phones and checked the contents. They had made 73 different Instagram accounts to dupe people, especially women. Interestingly, names of all the accounts started with Alex,” said Hardik Makadia, ACP (cybercrime). The police said that they used to download photos and videos of some good looking man called Alex and post those pictures on the bogus Instagram ids.   "They send friend requests to women from these bogus IDs and befriend them. A woman identified as Princess Helen Abang has been remanded in Suleja Custodial Centre by Hon. Justice K.N. Man arrested after be@ting his wife to death for refusing to grant him control of the school she built A 45-year-old man, Segun Omotosho Ebenezer, was on Sunday, November 20, 2022 arrested by men of Ogun state Police for beating his 42-year-old wife, Omotosho Bukola to death. According to a statement by the image maker of the Ogun police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at Kemta divisional headquarters on the November 14, 2022, by the elder sister of the deceased, who reported that the deceased was beaten and seriously inj¥red by her husband over a minor disagreement. Speaking to Punch in Port Harcourt, the distraught woman said she could hardly see with her eyes due to punches the man threw at her. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a medical doctor, Rev. Dr. Nuhu Bakwa and his friend in Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State.    The incident happened at about 8:00 p.m on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, when Dr. Bakwa, who is also a pastor, and the friend were in transit from Mangu to Jos.  According to the Nigerian Tribune, Dr Bakwa and his family, who reside in Abuja, were in Farin-Kassa in Mangu over the death of his father, who passed away last week.   A source close to the family disclosed that Dr. Bakwa and his family, along with a pastor friend, were traveling back to Abuja when the gunmen ambushed them at Bisichi in Jos South local government.   The gunmen forced the medical doctor and his friend out of the car they were traveling in and whisked them away.   The source said that the gunmen left the doctor’s wife along with two other children in the car.   He added that the wife, who was in a state of confusion, later alerted the relatives of h

Man arrested for abd¥cting four teenage boys recently declared missing in Lagos  Police operatives in Lagos State have arrested a 51-year-old man, Austin Kanu, for allegedly abd¥cting four teenage boys in Surulere area of the state.    The victims, ages between 16 to 18, were on October 29, 2022 at about 2010hrs discovered in an isolated place within the National Stadium, Surulere by the Chief Security Officer of the stadium who was on routine patrol and then alerted the police. The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Tuesday, November 1, disclosed that: “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect lured the victims from Ogba and Agege to Surulere.  Their parents when contacted, confirmed that the boys had been missing since the early hours of October 29, 2022.”

Man sentenced to de@th by h@nging for k#lling his bestie for money ritu@l in Bauchi  A High Court sitting in Bauchi State has sentenced a 23-year-old man, Musa Hamza, to de@th by h@nging for k#lling his friend for money ritu@l. The convict, who was arrested on December 21, 2020 was found guilty of k#lling the deceased, a 17-year-old boy named Adamu Ibrahim, in Alkaleri LGA of the state.  After k#lling the deceased, he c#t his neck, pl#ck out his two eyes and p#t them in a bottle. He also b#ried his head and body at different locations. The suspect initially denied the accusation against him before the court at the beginning of the trial, but later admitted it. He confessed that he was asked by a ritu@list to bring the eyes for money ritu@l.    The court presided over by Justice Faruq Umar Sarki sentenced him to de@th by h@nging having been found guilty of the offence he was charged for.
